Course Overview

Keep Operations And Accounting In Agreement

This course is built for operations and finance staff who already run a growing business on Zoho, or are about to migrate to it from spreadsheets. It covers the full operations loop: receiving goods against a purchase order, tracking stock across multiple warehouses, assembling composite items on the shop floor, syncing sales across Amazon, Flipkart and Shopify, and closing the books in Zoho Books with correct GST every month. You work inside a live sandbox organisation, not slides.

It suits inventory managers, purchase and stores staff, accountants, e-commerce operations executives, and small business owners who sign off on the numbers. By the end you set up an organisation from scratch without locking yourself into a wrong base currency or place of supply, keep physical stock and book stock in agreement, build small Creator apps and Deluge workflows for the gaps that off the shelf modules leave, and read Analytics dashboards that tell you what is actually moving.

  • Live sandbox organisation with import templates
  • Multichannel sync for Amazon, Flipkart and Shopify
  • Books and Inventory integration with correct GST
  • Creator and Deluge workflow samples

Curriculum

Three Levels, Built To Stack

Start where you are. Each level assumes the one before it, so your skills compound instead of repeat.

Level 1 · Foundations

Operations Foundations

For stores, purchase and junior accounts staff new to Zoho Inventory and Books. You set up the organisation correctly the first time, base currency, GSTINs, warehouses, item masters and HSN codes, and run the daily loop of purchase orders, receives, sales orders, packages and shipments end to end.

Level 2 · Connected

Connected Operations

For inventory managers and e-commerce operations handling multiple channels and warehouses. You wire up multichannel sync, manage stock transfers between warehouses, handle composite items and bundling for light manufacturing, and reconcile channel stock against book stock.

Level 3 · Automation

Automation and Reporting

For senior operations, finance leads and owners standardising the whole stack. You build custom Creator apps and Deluge workflows the standard modules do not cover, design Analytics dashboards for stock ageing, purchase and GST, and structure Zoho One roles so the right people see the right data.

Module 1: Setting Up The Organisation Without Regret
Configure base currency, financial year, GSTINs, place of supply and warehouse structure in the correct order. The costly mistake is picking the wrong base currency or organisation region, which Zoho will not let you change later, forcing a full new organisation and a re-import of every master.
Module 2: Item Masters, HSN Codes and Tax Rates
Build clean item masters with correct HSN, units and opening stock. Using a 4 digit HSN where 6 digits are now required, or mixing goods and service codes, quietly breaks your GSTR-1 HSN summary and invites notices at filing time.
Module 3: Purchase Orders, Receives and Bills
Run the procurement loop from purchase order to goods receipt to vendor bill, with partial receipts and landed costs. Skipping the receive step and billing directly leaves your on hand quantity wrong, so reorder points fire late and you either run out or over order.
Module 4: Multi Warehouse Stock and Transfers
Manage stock across warehouses, run transfers, and read stock per location instead of a single lumped figure. Treating all warehouses as one pool hides the fact that a fast moving SKU is empty in Mumbai while sitting idle in Delhi, and transfers left in draft silently distort both locations.
Module 5: Composite Items, Bundling and Light Manufacturing
Build composite items and bundles for kits and assemblies, and record production so raw material stock drops correctly. Forgetting that an item can be tracked by either serial or batch numbers but not both, or bundling without recording batch numbers, breaks expiry tracking when a customer returns a faulty lot.
Module 6: Multichannel Sales Sync
Connect Amazon, Flipkart, Shopify and your own site so orders flow in and stock flows out automatically. SKU mismatches between the channel and Zoho, or pushing decimal quantities to Shopify which rejects them, stall the sync and cause overselling that a marketplace then penalises.
Module 7: Books and Inventory Integration and GST
Keep operations and accounting in agreement, so sales orders, bills and inventory value land correctly in Zoho Books with the right GST split. Leaving a customer GSTIN blank dumps that invoice into B2C in GSTR-1 so the customer cannot claim ITC, and a wrong customer state applies CGST and SGST where IGST was due.
Module 8: Creator Apps, Deluge Workflows and Analytics
Build small Creator apps and Deluge scripts for approvals and exceptions the standard modules miss, and design Analytics dashboards for stock ageing, purchase and GST. Writing Deluge without watching API call limits hits daily caps and leaves automations half run, so approvals stall exactly when volume is highest.

FAQ

Common Questions

Do I need to know accounting first?
No. We assume you know your own business operations. Basic GST concepts help, and we cover the accounting side of Books as we go, but you do not need a commerce degree.
Do I need paid Zoho licences to take the course?
No. We work in free trial and free tier organisations for the exercises, and we explain Zoho One pricing so you can plan a real rollout.
Is this only for e-commerce sellers?
No. Multichannel sync is one module. The rest applies to any business running inventory, purchase orders, warehouses and light manufacturing, whether you sell offline, B2B or on marketplaces.
Will this cover GST filing itself?
We cover how to keep your data clean so GSTR-1 and returns come out right. Actual return filing is covered in our GST Portal course.
